ABOUT US

Biodiversity Alliance partners with communities and organisations across Uganda to safeguard natural habitats that protect pangolins and support diverse ecosystems. We believe that when nature thrives in harmony, our future shines brightest.

Project:Pangolin

Biodiversity Alliance’s major focus for 2026 is Pangolin preservation. In the last four years, we have participated in the rescue of over 200 pangolins in Uganda alone.

We are an Alliance, committed to Biodiversity for Earth’s sake.

Biodiversity Alliance’s mission is to build an alliance that contributes towards the protection, conservation, and restoration of biodiversity in Uganda.

We envision a world of thriving ecosystems where biodiversity flourishes and is in harmony with humans.

Where We Work: Uganda

Uganda is one of Africa’s most biodiverse countries, where rainforests, savannas, and mountains support a rich variety of wildlife, including hundreds of bird species and iconic mammals. Its protected areas play a vital role in conserving these ecosystems and maintaining ecological balance.

Among its unique species are pangolins, elusive mammals that help control insect populations. Despite their importance, they face threats from poaching and habitat loss, making conservation efforts in Uganda increasingly important.

How We Started

What began as a shared passion among Rebe and a small group of like-minded colleagues has grown into something truly powerful. United by a deep commitment to protecting the natural world, they set out to inspire their community with knowledge about the importance of biodiversity: why it matters, how it sustains us, and what’s at stake if it’s lost. As awareness spread and more people embraced this vision, that spark of passion evolved into a movement. From these grassroots beginnings, Biodiversity Alliance (BA) was born. A vibrant, community-driven force dedicated to education, conservation, and empowering people to become stewards of the environment.
