VIVID VISION

Biodiversity Alliance’s expanded vision for the future is a world where human society acknowledges that we are part of the natural world, and lives in harmony, sustainably within the ecosystems we inhabit. It is a world where food and resources are sustainably sourced in a way that has allows the ecosystems to function. Our vision is for large areas of land and ocean in critical ecosystems around the world to be restored and allowed to naturally recover to wilderness, as this is a key part of the success of addressing climate change. As vulnerable communities are increasingly threatened, our vision is that this is dealt with in a just and equitable way.

Biodiversity Alliance has been an influential part in a dramatic global shift in how we interact with the natural world. We want to be a part of restored large areas of critical ecosystems, first in Uganda, and then elsewhere, working closely with communities surrounding these areas on programs that simultaneously improved quality of life, economic wellbeing and the biodiversity. These thriving communities will be advocates for conservation, for protection of biodiversity and are a part of the Alliance.

In the future, we envision that the ecosystems we manage are thriving, bursting with biodiversity and complexity to the extent that they cultivate wonder and fascination. This wonder is amplified by those involved in the projects, who have a deep understanding of the ecosystems and are skilled in opening others eyes to the magic of their healthy, thriving biodiverse ecosystem. They are change-makers and they do this both in person, and more broadly through media, using powerful visuals, and compelling, engaging storytelling. The people who come across our biodiverse ecosystems, either in media or in person, are compelled to act, they are moved to be a part of the Alliance with nature, and other human beings to protect nature.

Threatened species, that were declining rapidly when BA was formed, will be recovering and thriving. Biodiversity alliance will have helped rescue and release thousands of endangered animals, but more importantly than that, we will be a part of ensuring that the behaviour driving the trafficking was increasingly no longer tolerated in society. Those who were struggling financially and felt like illegal poaching was their only option will be presented with different economic opportunities based in support rather than destroy the natural world, support offered by the Alliance.

We need you to join with us, will you become a part of the Biodiversity Alliance?
